Ejerskifte 3.3.1

Ejerskifte is an application for transferring ownership of a privately owned vehicle without using a registration certificate. Both the buyer and the seller must have the application installed and log in with NemID/MitID. Subsequently, they can collaborate to complete the vehicle transfer process so that the new owner is registered in the Motor Registry.

Once both the buyer and the seller have downloaded the application and logged in with NemID/MitID, the application works as follows:

• The seller views a list of their vehicles and chooses to initiate the transfer of the relevant vehicle. This generates a code that is given to the buyer.
• The buyer views a list of their potential vehicles and chooses to add a new vehicle. Then, they enter the code received from the seller, and the relevant vehicle is identified. Once the buyer has selected liability and any optional comprehensive insurance, a fee of 340 DKK for the ownership transfer is paid. If the buyer already has an arrangement with an insurance company, an insurance policy number can be entered.
• Upon completion of the ownership transfer, both the buyer and the seller receive a receipt of the transaction that can always be found in the application.

When using Ejerskifte, please note:

• You must be at least 18 years old to log in.
• You must have a Danish CPR number.
• If there is debt on the vehicle, it will be assumed by the new owner. Vehicle debt can be checked at tinglysning.dk.
• A valid inspection of the vehicle must be completed before it can be re-registered.
• It is mandatory to have third-party liability insurance for your vehicle, which can be selected within the application.
• The buyer must pay a fee of 340 DKK to complete the ownership transfer.
• It is not possible to designate anyone other than yourself as the primary user of the vehicle. It is also not possible to add secondary users or owners. These details can be changed or added in the Motor Registry for a fee of 340 DKK.
• Once the code is generated, the buyer has one hour to complete the ownership transfer.
